Darling Shear was awarded a 2017 Co-MISSION Residency.
Darling is a Chicago Native with roots in Atlanta where she started their dance training. Darling attended North Springs Charter School of the performing arts where they received training in Ballet, Modern, Jazz and African. Shear began dancing professionally right out of high school and in that time from 2008 to 2011 worked with many great choreographers including Bubba Carr choreography/artistic director to Cher for 12yrs and counting, Rhonda Henriksen soloist with Hubbard Street and Twyla Tharp, Tracy Vogt former Philadanco dancer, Hinton Battle the Original Scarecrow from the broadway production of “The Wiz” and Lauri Stallings Hubbard street soloist and founder/artistic director of gloATL. Darling moved back to Chicago the summer of 2011 to start their company Suna Dance a collaborative artist group and had its first public performance in November of 2011. Darling is currently a freelance dancer/choreographer in the city and have worked with The Fly Honeys of the The Inconvenience and various other dance troops and was also an apprentice with the Cerqua Rivera Dance Theatre.
