Race Travels: Care Packages from Trinidad to Chicago and back again. is a cross-cultural performance project merging elements of video production, sound collage, vocal exploration and dance to create an original multimedia work between ThickRoutes Performance Collage, a Chicago-based experimental performance ensemble, and Noble Douglas Dance Company, a Trinidadian-based dance company. We explore the constructs of “race” and “ethnicity” in Trinidad and the United States as a means to cultivate greater understanding between these two distinct national communities.
