Links Hall’s workshops are dedicated to nurturing the unique creativity of your own expression, through the exploration and practice of contemporary methods with passionate, intelligent, and informed artist-instructors.

Links Hall is located at 3435 N. Sheffield Avenue, Chicago.

CTA Trains/Buses: Red Line to Addison or Belmont, Brown line to Belmont, Clark Bus to Clark/Newport.

Driving: parking is a challenge, there are meters and residential codes apply. Pay lots are available up to $20. Please call us for directions, suggestions.

Links Hall is a second floor walk-up; there is no elevator or escalator.

CLASS POLICIES

Classes are usually open to all participants with at least beginning/intermediate skills in body/mind awareness (such as those developed through dance, yoga, martial arts, etc.)

Please wear bare feet and comfortable clothing for movement classes, and arrive at least 5 minutes prior to all classes to sign in and change. Refunds only in cases of illness or injury.

Visit the Study Groups and Jams page for independent dance and movement classes that occur regularly in the studio.

 

 


Tom Tresser & Stockyard Institute
The Artist As Leader: A Workshop for Community, Political, and Social Change Agents
Monday, April 7, 7-10pm
$25

This interactive workshop will explore the power of the arts and the leadership talents of artists and cultural workers. Participants will discuss the connections between creativity politics in the US and will explore their own leadership history and potential, working in small groups to create visuals, text, and movement in response to the workshop material.

Kairol Rosenthal
DIY Acupressure For Beginners
Monday April, 28, 6-9pm
$24 individual/$32 per pair

Working in pairs, learn basic do-it-yourself techniques from Thai massage, shiatsu, and jin shin do. These forms of acupressure are practiced clothed and combine hands-on pressure with passive stretching to achieve relaxation, reduce stress, and encourage relief from common ailments. Participants will both give and receive a half-hour session, and learn skills for practicing with friends and family. Wear comfortable clothes and bring blankets or mats and a bottle of water.
